A few simple steps today can help protect your family, your home, and your peace of mind when a storm approaches.
1. Stay informed & alert
- Follow local news and weather alerts
- Keep a battery-powered radio or fully charged phone available
2. Prepare an emergency kit
- Store drinking water (minimum 3 liters per person, per day for at least 3 days)
- Have at least 3 days of non-perishable food on hand
- Include medications, flashlights, batteries, and other essentials
3. Reinforce your home
- Secure doors and windows with shutters or storm protection
- Remove or secure loose outdoor items that could become projectiles
4. Plan your route & shelter
- Know your evacuation zone, nearby shelters, and evacuation routes
- Establish a meeting point with your family outside the risk area
