Connor+Gaskins Studio Breaks Ground on STARability Foundation’s New Campus

Connor + Gaskins Studio joined STARability Foundation and community partners today to officially break ground on STARability’s new, future-forward campus located at 2655 Northbrooke Drive in Naples, marking a major milestone for one of Southwest Florida’s most impactful nonprofit organizations.

The ceremony celebrated the start of construction on a first-of-its-kind facility designed to expand STARability’s capacity to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Connor + Gaskins, the project’s appointed general contractor, is partnering with a team that includes Stofft Cooney Architects, Lisa Kahn Designs, Architectural Land Design, and Davidson Engineering.

A key highlight of the groundbreaking was the announcement of the Golisano Program Center, named in honor of philanthropist Tom Golisano, whose $10 million in leadership gifts made the project possible. The new center will significantly increase STARability’s capacity to meet the region’s rapidly growing need: more than 370 STAR participants engage in programs annually, and the new campus is expected to serve 1,000 people per year, welcoming 180 participants daily and eliminating the existing program waitlist.

The new campus will elevate STARability’s ability to deliver life-enriching programs, including life skills training, vocational services, creative arts, health and wellness activities and community integration initiatives.

Construction is now underway, with updates to be shared as progress continues.
