Connor+Gaskins Studio, the commercial division of the Connor+Gaskins family of companies based in Naples, FL, is excited to announce the commencement of renovations for Blackbird Restaurant, located at the Naples Bay Resort & Marina. The space, formerly occupied by Bonefish Grill for 15 years, is undergoing a complete redesign to make way for a modern, vibrant dining experience.
While many elements of the existing Bonefish Grill restaurant structure will remain intact, the interior ambiance will be completely transformed. The restaurant will feature an entirely new look and feel, with updated seating throughout the dining room and bar, as well as a range of custom design features. The successful Jupiter-based restaurant will offer a new intimate experience to Naples, whether customers sit at the bar, in the dining room or outdoors along the bay.
The renovation is progressing on schedule, with the space now fully framed and sheet-rocked. Mechanical systems have been completed, and the team is currently focusing on the installation of the ceiling grid. The next phases of the renovation will include the restaurant flooring, kitchen epoxy, restaurant bar, and carpentry—all integral to the new aesthetic.
Blackbird will offer a sophisticated, contemporary dining experience featuring pan-Asian cuisine with influences from Southeast Asia, complemented by modern culinary touches. Notable design features include a sprawling petrified bonsai tree, color-changing theatrical lighting throughout the restaurant and an impressive 3D Foam Buddha Head Art Piece, created by Unique Rabbits Studios. A custom umbrella ceiling art feature will add a whimsical touch to the bar area. Outside, the restaurant will be adorned with an 8-foot tall Buddha Head statue and an exterior floral wall mural painted by artist Amanda Valdes.
The project team includes contractor Connor+Gaskins Studio, architect MHK and interior designer Kat Solomon Interiors, all of whom are bringing their expertise to ensure the restaurant’s design reflects Blackbird’s vibrant, upscale brand.
